Galvanized elbow

Galvanized elbow is a kind of elbow which is coated with zinc to improve the corrosion resistance of the elbow. Galvanized elbow is divided into hot-dip galvanizing and galvanizing. The hot-dip galvanizing layer is thick, the galvanizing cost is low, and the surface is not very smooth. Galvanized elbow pipes are separately cooled, plated and hot coated. The former has been banned and the latter has been promoted for the time being.

Galvanized elbow process

1. optimization of sulfate zinc plating

Sulfate galvanized elbow has the advantage of high current efficiency as high as 100%, fast deposition rate, which is incomparable with other galvanizing processes. Due to the poor crystallization, dispersion and deep plating ability of the coating, it is only suitable for the electroplating of pipe and wire with simple geometry.

Sulfate galvanized elbow iron alloy only retains zinc sulfate, the main salt of sulfate galvanized zinc, the remaining components such as aluminum sulfate, alum (potassium aluminium sulfate) can be treated in the bath, adding sodium hydroxide to form insoluble hydroxide precipitation to remove; for organic additives, adding powdered activated carbon adsorption to remove.

3. fast deposition rate and excellent protective properties.

The current efficiency of sulphate electroplating zinc elbow alloy process is as high as 100%. The deposition rate is incomparable with any zinc plating process. The running speed of fine tube is 8-12 m/min and the average thickness of coating is 2 m/min. This is difficult to achieve by continuous zinc plating.

Zinc-plating elbow adopts sulfate electroplating zinc-ferroalloy process, because the production line trough and trough are perforated straight through without any solution out or overflow.

5. particularity of plating equipment

The plating of galvanized elbow is the same as wire plating, but the equipment is different. The plating slot designed for its slender stripes is long, wide and shallow. The iron wire is perforated from the hole and is expanded in the shape of the liquid surface to keep the distance between each other.

Use of galvanized elbow

Zinc-plated elbows are used to connect steel pipes for gas and heating. After several years of use, a large amount of rust and dirt are produced in the pipe. The yellow water not only pollutes the sanitary ware, but also contains bacteria that grow on the unsmooth inner wall. The rust causes excessive heavy metal content in the water and seriously endangers human health. In 60s and 70s, developed areas began to develop new pipes, and gradually banned galvanized pipes and galvanized elbows. Four ministries and commissions, such as the Ministry of Construction, have been civilized in banning galvanized elbows since 2000. Galvanized elbows have seldom been used to connect pipes in cold water pipes in new residential areas. In some residential areas, galvanized elbows are used to connect hot water pipes.
